Sindh Assembly
adopts condolence
resolution for
Asif Bhoja
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday adopted a condolence resolution mourning the death of Asif Bhoja, son of Farooq Bhoja, owner of the Bhoja Airlines.
Pir Mazhar-ul-Huq of PPP, moved the resolution. Dr. Mohammed Farooq Sattar of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was the co-sponsor of the resolution.
Dr. Sattar eulogised the services of the Bhoja family and termed the murder as a heinous crime against innocent people. Others who condemned the murder included former minister for law and parliamentary affairs, Salim Zia, Salim Khokhar, minority MPA, Mohammad Hussain, MQM, and Sher Mohammed Baloch PPP.
Later, Fateha was offered for Asif and for the veteran parliamentarian Ahmed Mian Soomro, who died recently.
The report of the special committee on privilege bill No. 1 Ñ a bill to provide for regularisation of services of certain civil servants and the presentation of report of the special committee on rules of procedure of the Sindh Assembly, would be taken up when the assembly meets again on April 13.
Dr. Sohrab Khan Sirki, PPP, had given notice for the bill No 1, while it was moved in the House by Nawab Mirza, MQM. The motion regarding rules of procedure of the Sindh Assembly was presented by MQM's Dr Farooq Sattar.
Earlier when the session began the acting speaker, Syed Jelal Mehmood Shah announced the panel of chairmen: Sardar Abdul Rahim, Mohammad Hussain, Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman, and Manzoor Husain Shah.
The assembly session was adjourned by the acting speaker to meet again on April 13 at 9:30 am.
