468 Hajis return home

KARACHI: After performing Haj, the first batch of 468 Hajis returned here on Wednesday from Jeddah by PIA's flight PK-1102.

They were welcomed by Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Religious Affairs Saeed Ahmed Siddiqui.

Senior officials of the Directorate of Haj, Civil Aviation Authority, ASF, PIA, Customs, Immigration and other departments were also present on the occasion.

The process of return of the Hajis will continue till April 24.

Meanwhile the PTV, quoting Minister for Religious Affairs Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq, said that this year more than 88,000 Pakistanis performed Haj.

He said that about 15,000 Pakistani pilgrims from Gulf states also performed Haj this year.

Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said that this year the number of Pakistani pilgrims was the highest.

He also said that as compared to previous years this year government had made excellent residential and medical arrangements for the Pakistani pilgrims during their stay in the Holy Land for the performance of the Haj.ÑAPP
