Grant for newsman's
widow
RECORDER REPORT
FAISALABAD: Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has given financial grant of Rs one lakh for the widow of Asghar Ali Jehangir, Chief Editor, Daily Al-Naqeeb, Faisalabad.
Asghar Ali Jehangir was a veteran journalist who had the privilege to interview many important international dignitaries including former Turkish Prime Minister Turgat Ozal and many others.
He died of cardiac failure on March 22, 1993.
A representative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting visited his residence and handed over the cheque of Rs one lakh to the widow of the late journalist.
