Firmer conditions on Jodia Bazar

KARACHI: Firmer condition obtained on Jodia Bazar where a number of variations were marked in kirana and chemicals, market was full of apprehension about rumours regarding strike call on Wednesday.

Changes were seen in other commodities but insignificant enough to merit mention.

However, chemicals were changed across the board as trading was stated to be gaining pace. Anyway DOP was quoted lower at Rs 81.50. Similarly, formic acid Germany was up and quoted at Rs 42, citric acid was lower and quoted at Rs 87, petroleum jelly white Iran sharply lower at Rs 46.20, sulphonic acid China slightly lower at Rs 57.20, sodium sulphide China quoted lower at Rs 25.30, sodium hydrosulphite China at Rs 57.75, P.V.A. Japan lower at Rs 147.50, Sitara caustic soda up at Rs 27.50, Rangolite (C) Germany lower at Rs 149.60, acetic acid Taiwan and Korea quoted lower at Rs 63.80 and Rs 63 respectively.

Kirana items were mixed. White pepper was up sharply by Rs 400, white pepper Singapore lost Rs 50, white pepper from Ceylon shed Rs 100, black pepper gave in Rs 150, cinnamor leaves up Rs 90, small cardamom from Tanzania up sharply by Rs 2800, big cardamom from Tanzania backed away by Rs 50, Guatemalan cardamom climbed up by Rs 800, cloves up Rs 160, isbaghol ki bhoosi shed Rs 125, darchini lost Rs 150 and tamarind lost Rs 20.
