ISLAMABAD: A two-week training course on "transmitter engineering and modulation systems" ended here at Pakistan Broadcasting Academy on Sunday.

The course, organized by Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation in collaboration with South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), was aimed to improving the knowledge and skill of the engineers of the member countries in this particular profession, said a press release.

Addressing the closing ceremony the Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Muhammad Abbas hoped that the Course will help in the process of achieving modern technology in the field of broadcast engineering.

He said that during the two week long deliberations the participants have gained sufficient knowledge and skill in this field of engineering and have also got an opportunity of sharing their experience.

In his address, the Principal of Pakistan Broadcasting Academy, Zulfiqar Ahmed lauded the idea of SAARC of promoting human resources in the field of broadcasting through regional cooperation and hoped that this would brings positive changes in the development of these countries. He thanked SAARC Headquarters for assigning PBA to hold the Course and Government of Japan for funding the 2 week long course. Besides Pakistan, the course was attended by participants from India, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Later, the Director General PBC gave away certificates to the participants.

A three-month training course of PBC broadcast engineers also concluded on Sunday.-APP
