GST from

next fiscal

KARACHI: Pakistan Association of Printing and Graphic Arts Industry (Papgai) has strongly opposed General Sales Tax (GST) from next fiscal year by saying that international organisations advises were not suitable for unique Pakistani environment.

Bilal Shaikh Vice Chairman PAPGAI in a statement on Sunday said that GST system was not acceptable as Fixed Sales Tax scheme was best suited and need of the hour. Government plans to impose 15 percent GST on press by abolishing FST scheme will ruin this sector he added.

He urged PAPGAI members to deposit their FST so that association could plead its case with government in a strong position against imposition of General Sales Tax.-PPI
