LONDON: Altaf Hussain, MQM chief has said struggle of MQM was not against any person or class, but against the tyrant system in the country.

Talking to various delegations of Pakistanis belonging to different province of the country here Sunday, he said owing to this system established by feudal lords, few persons became owners of power and resources of the country while 140 million population were deprived of basic necessities of life.

He said those who propagate that MQM is against Pakhtoons, Punjabis, Sindhis and Baloch, want to foment ethnic riots.

He said MQM is a 'Haq Parast' party which was struggling for rights of the Mohajir community besides other oppressed classes of the country. He said "Our message is love". He said MQM started opening its Muttahida Qaumi Movement units all over the country but before the announcement of Muttahida Qaumi Movement the operation was started against the party.

He said with the launching of the operation, several Pakhtoon, Baloch, Punjabi and Saraiki workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement were detained as they were supporting MQM concept of truth. They were put behind the bars only for refusing to work against MQM, he alleged.

Criticizing the taxation system, Altaf said the poor had to pay all taxes but capitalists and feudal lords did not pay. He charged that not only did they not pay taxes on agricultural land, but also got exemptions to repay loans which they borrowed.

He said in view of economic condition of the country, it was necessary to impose tax on agriculture income and loans to should not be given until outstanding dues are cleared.

He said an attempt was being made by the establishment to create misunderstandings. But the clouds of misunderstanding were now disappearing and people were becoming aware of the false propaganda being carried out against MQM.-PPI
