Excise personnel

told to gear up

campaign against

drug abuse

KARACHI: The Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Narcotic Control, Abdul Rahim Baluch, on Sunday called upon the Excise personnel to gear up measures against drug abuse in Sindh Province.

The Advisor held a meeting with the officials of Excise Department, Larkana Division to review their performance and expressed grave concern over the use of narcotics and growth in the number of drug addicts.

He also expressed dissatisfaction over the department's performance and said that a campaign will be launched from larkana against drug abuse and the elements involved in this heinous crime.

Baluch warned that there was no more room dishonest and ineffient officials in the department. He said we all have to make collective endeavour to fulfill the desire of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto for ridding the society of evil of narcotics.

Meanwhile the Advisor has chalked out plans for visits to Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad divisions.-APP
