MULTAN: Chehalyak police on Sunday, have registered a case against 30 Muslim Leaguers on the charge of taking out unlawful procession, hurling stones on private buildings, blocking the roads by burning tyres and attempting to set an official vehicle on fire.

Police raided the residences of PML activists to arrest them. It may be recalled that activists of PML, PML Labour Wing, Youth Wing took out a procession to condemn the murder of Javed Ashraf in Lahore which become violent and entire area became a battle-ground between demonstrators and the police, and participants attacked Zenith Cinema, damaged its furniture. They also attacked official vehicles and broke wind-shields and manhandled the driver of Irrigation Department on Saturday evening.

A protest rally was also organised by PML(N) on Sunday as a protest against police atrocity against leaguers and assassination of Mian Shahbaz Sharif's political secretary. Participants shouted slogans against the government.

The rally was led by Haji Mohammad Boota MNA, Haji Ehsan-Uddin Qureshi, MPA, Rana Noorul Hassan MPA, Hafiz Iqbal Khakwani, MPA, Makhdoom Ghulam Yazdani Gilani, Malik Rafiq Rajwana, President High Court Bar. Heavy police contingent was deployed in the city to avert any mishap.
