The visiting US Senator Hank Brown called on the Foreign Minister Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali here on Sunday evening.
They discussed various matters relating to PAK-US relations with particular emphasis on the prospects of final implementation of the Brown amendment. They also discussed at length prospects of expansion in trade and investment in different economic sectors in Pakistan.
Sardar Aseff briefed the Senator about the position in occupied Kashmir and said that Pakistan was deeply concerned about the reported Indian plan for thermo-nuclear test. He said such a practice would endanger peace in the region. He went on to say that Pakistan stood against nuclear proliferation in the region and would make every possible effort to ensure peace in South Asia.
