Intending Hajis
briefed
ISLAMABAD: All the Pakistani Hajis before their departure for performance of sacred Freeza-i-Haj are fully briefed that they should not carry with them any sort of narcotics and do not accept any gift from anyone before boarding their respective flights from Pakistan to Jeddah.
They are also warned not to carry any kind of fire arms or material which can ignite fire in the aircraft. Such instructions have also been issued in writing to each and every Haji by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in its general instructions book provided to the Hajis for their study prior to departure for Jeddah.
The pilgrims who are used to some medicines have only be permitted to take these medicines along with their prescriptions duly verified by the medical officers at their respective Haji camps.
All these measures have been taken by the Ministry to ensure the innocent Hajis do not fall pray to smugglers and traffickers of narcotics at any stage.
It may be added that about 250 Pakistanis were facing trials in Saudi Arabia for carrying narcotics in one form or the other about a year's back. According to Saudi laws, any one who is found guilty of carrying, selling narcotics in Saudi Arabia is beheaded.-PPI
