FPCCI chief

donates Rs 50,000

to KPC

KARACHI: Senator Ilyas Bilour, FPCCI President on Saturday donated Rs 50,000 to Karachi Press Club.

Speaking at the Press Club he favoured press freedom and said that it was necessary to uphold democratic norms of the country. "Less government control over press and business affairs will lead to development and prosperity," he added.

He said bureaucratic hurdles had hampered socio-economic development of the country. It was unnecessarily mingling with unconcerned affairs and gave his own example that a petition had been filed by the Ministry of Commerce against his election as FPCCI President in Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Sabihuddin Ghausi, President Karachi Press Club spoke of activities of the club and demand for proprietary rights of the club land.
