HYDERABAD: The 9th English Language Teaching course was inagurated at the Institute of Sindhology University at Jamshoro on Saturday with speakers emphasising the importance of English language.

Prof:Mariam Noohani, Director College Education, Hyderabad region, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof:Dr.Gul Hassan Kazi, acting vice Chancellor University of Sindh, presided over the function.

Prof:S.Altaf Hussain,Director General, Ccurriculum and Training Section University Grants Commission was the guest of honour, while Prof:Dr. K.M. Larik, Dean Faculty of Arts, University of Sindh was the co-ordinator of the programme.

Dr.Altaf Hussain, while welcoming the guests, gave details of the ELT programme, sponsored by the U.O.C. in collaboration with the department of English, University of Sindh. Dr.K.M. Larik highlighted the importance of E.D.T. programme, specially in the wake of deteriorating standards of English in the country.

Dr. Gul Hassan Kazi, in his address, focussed the importance of such programmes in the Educational Institutions, sponsored by the UGC Prof :Mariam Noohani, the chief guest, emphasised for updating knowledge specially for english language teachers.-APP
