China Premier Li to visit France April 9-13

BEIJING: Chinese Premier Li Peng will make an official visit to France from April 9 to 13, Xinhua news agency reported China's foreign ministry saying on Saturday.

Li would visit France at the invitation of his French counterpart Alain Juppe, foreign ministry spokesman Shen Guofang told the agency.

On Thursday, the Dutch government said Li had cancelled a planned visit on April 18 to the Netherlands.

The visit was postponed "the request of the Chinese owing to other commitments," the Dutch government information office said in a brief statement.

No new dates for the Dutch visit were given.

China has not mentioned the cancellation of the trip to the Netherlands.-Reuter
