Hank Brown
due today
WASHINGTON: US Senator Hank Brown is reaching Pakistan from Damascus Saturday on a three day visit to Pakistan.
Brown will join his colleague Congressman Charles Wilson after a week-long trip to Middle East. Both played a key role in the passage of the law which demolished a larger part of Pressler sanctions imposed on Pakistan because of its nuclear programme.
During their stay in Pakistan, they will meet Pakistani leaders and officials including President Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari and Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
They are also expected to visit a refugee camp in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir and the Line of Control (LOC).
Pakistan ambassador Dr. Maleeha Lodhi left this evening for Islamabad to be present there during Senator Brown and Rep. Wilson's visit. Dr. Lodhi is expected to stay on for some more days for important consultations.
