HYDERABAD: The District Magistrate, Hyderabad, Zahid Saeed has banned gatherings in open public places to forestall growing tension among various sectarian groups affiliated with religious-political parties which had resulted in law and order situation on various occasions.

In a press release issued here on Thursday evening, he said that such tension also existed over the control of various mosques and added that these groups had also started campaigning openly against each other by distributing pamphlets and by wall chalking.

"To contain this tendency, it has been decided that no such group will be allowed any gathering in open public place", District Magistrate declared.

He has also imposed section 144 Cr. PC on wall chalking and "anyone found violating this order will be dealt with according to law", District Magistrate warned.

Zahid Saeed further said that provisions relating to use of loud-speakers must also be strictly adhered to and added that the "contravention of these provisions was also liable for punishment under the relevant law".
