Altaf not
worried about
proof provided
to UK govt
LONDON: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, has denounced as fabricated the proofs provided by the Pakistani government to the British government.
In an interview with BBC, he said "I don't know whether any documents have been presented by the government of Pakistan to the British government or not, but we are not worried if they have done so because we know that the British government will not believe in their documents without full investigation".
He said "as regards our party, we know fully that any documents which either have been sent or will be sent would be based on false statements and fictitious stories. Here is Britain, there is no jungle law but there is a rule of law."
He said "I shall handle the matter according to the British law and adopt the strategy according to the existing law".
In the meantime, a spokesman of Pak embassy in London, Kamran Shafi, explained the Pakistan's stand and said "a Pakistani team has presented many proofs in the forms of files, documents, tapes, videos etc and these in our eyes, prove that Altaf Hussain is a convict."
He said "our government has provided enough proof and the view-point we have moved basically is that he (Altaf Hussain) has already been convicted by the court. We have also stressed that this case of Major Kalim in which Altaf Hussain was convicted was actually registered by the government of his coalition partner Nawaz Sharif in which he already been sentenced to imprisonment."-PPI
