Incentives for
exports lauded
ISLAMABAD: Shahid Rashid Butt, former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and Chairman Founder Group on Thursday lauded the incentives provided by the government to the exporters and called for making all out efforts for boosting country's exports.
He was addressing a seminar at the Pakistan National Centre, Islamabad, on "promotion of exports and its importance to Pakistan's economy".
Shahid Rashid Butt, said that government has granted adequate incentives such as export finance facility, duty free import of raw materials for exportable goods and simplification of payment of rebates through the banking system. The businessmen should avail these facilities and make earnest efforts to increase production.
The seminar was chaired by Habibullah, Chairman of Export Promotion Bureau, and attended by a large number of businessmen, exporters, and government functionaries who exchanged views about the importance of increasing exports for Pakistan's economic development.
Butt urged the Pakistani exporters to make optimum use of the incentives and opportunities offered for promoting bilateral trade.
Shahid Butt said Islamabad Chamber is in the process of establishing a Display Centre of exportable products and urged the Export Promotion Bureau to provide financial and technical support to the chamber for this project. -APP
