European cotton markets attract limited buying

LIVERPOOL, (England): Limited cotton trade was reported in Portugal, Italy and Spain in Central Asian, African france zone and Latin American medium/lower qualities, industry sources said on Thursday.

But business on most European markets was constrained by the approach of the Easter holiday, firm prices and and the uncertain outlook for yarn sales.

In eastern Europe the recent release of U.S. export credit guarantees for Lithuania provided scope for new autumn shipment business in U.S. descriptions.

No significant trade was recorded in the long staple sector.-Reuter
