SINGAPORE: Asian dollar deposit rates were little changed in featureless trade with most traders sidelined ahead of tonight's release of the U.S. weekly jobless claims figures for the week ended March 30, dealers said on Thursday.
They said the weekly claims are forecast at around 377,000 compared with 429,000 reported in the previous week.
"The market was quiet and featureless in the morning on lack of fresh factors and most people are on the sidelines. Everyone is waiting for tonight's weekly jobless claims figures for more clues to market direction," a local dealer said.
"Also most traders will be away for the weekend. Some people are also waiting for this Friday's non-farm payroll report for March. The market is going to hover around here on narrow range trade for the time being until we see fresh factors," he added.
In short dates, Thursday/Friday, weekend and week-fixed were unchanged from Wednesday's common 5-3/8 5-1/4 percent.
Among term rates, one-to-five-months were unchanged from Wednesday's common 5-7/16 5-5/16 percent, six-months unchanged at 5-1/2 5-3/8, nine-months unchanged at 5-5/8 5-1/2 and twelve-months unchanged at 5-11/16 5-9/16 percent.-Reuter
