KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's tin price fell eight cents to 15.87 ringgit ($6.27) a kg in reaction to an overnight plunge in values on the London market, traders said.

"The local price would have gone down further but sellers were not so interested to sell at the current price, so it held a little," said a dealer.

A major dealing house said the local premium against London surged to $80 from $20 overnight. Initial bids totalled 48 tonnes against 90 on offer. Turnover was 78 tonnes against 108 previously. Buyers were from Europe and Malaysia.-Reuter
