Indian gold
gains, silver
loses ground
BOMBAY: Indian silver prices suffered a setback at improved levels in early trade on Wednesday amid demand resistance from industrial consumers and light profit taking, dealers said.
Silver was up by 75 rupees per kg on Tuesday. "Improved arrivals as well as sliding global prices also triggered unloading by stockists," said a dealer.
Meanwhile, gold recovered recent losses on the back of stray seasonal support and restricted offerings by the custom department selling confiscated metals.
Prices of a gold biscuit (116.50 grammes) rose 75 rupees to 60,400 rupees per piece. Biscuit prices were down by 25 rupees per piece on Tuesday.-Reuter
