CHICAGO: Grain and oilseed exports reported by USDA and private export sources.
WHEAT SALES: Morocco bought 30,000 tonnes of Canadian durum at $247.68 per tonne C&F for end of April delivery, a Office Interprofessionnel des Cereales et Legumineuses official said.
South Korea's National Livestock Cooperatives Federation (NLCF) bought 104,000 tonnes of feed wheat at $194 per tonne, C and F, with 52,000 for September 20 delivery and the balance for October 20, a federation official said. The first cargo was sold by TradiGrain and the second by Cargill Inc.
BARLEY SALE: South Korea's NLCF bought 52,000 tonnes of feed rye at $162.87 per tonne from Cargill Inc for September 25 delivery, an NLCF official said.
CORN SALES: South Korea's NLCF bought 156,000 tonnes of U.S. No 3 yellow corn for August/September delivery from Mitsui, a federation official said. The deal included three 52,000-tonne cargoes. One for August 30 delivery was at $1.60 per bushel over CBOT September, another for September 10 delivery at $1.585 over CBOT September and the remainder for September 20 delivery at $1.565 over September, all Gulf.
CORN SALES: The Commodity Credit Corp of USDA said it bought 8,690 tonnes of U.S. corn for donation to Somalia and Rwanda. It paid $182.08 per tonne, FOB, to Continental Grain Co. Shipment is for April 10-25.
WHEAT TENDERS: Romania will sell 100,000 tonnes of milling wheat to Azerbaijan for cash or for crude oil on a barter basis, a Romanian official said on Tuesday.
Polish firms are planning to import between 500,000 and 700,000 tonnnes of milling wheat from the former Yugoslavia, the Polish agriculture minister said.
The Egyptian government's Holding Company for Rice and Flour Mills said it wanted to buy 100,000 tonnes of red winter wheat for loading between June 5 and July 25. The wheat can be of any origin but it must be from the last season, the company said. The deadline for bids is 1200 noon (1000 GMT) April 10.
CORN TENDER: Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group is scheduled to tender Friday for 54,000 tonnes of U.S. No.2 corn, U.S. exporters said. The corn is for May-June shipment.
VEGETABLE OIL TENDER: Pakistan's Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) is likely to tender for at least 6,000 tonnes of RBD palm oil soon, a TCP official said on Tuesday. The official said the TCP was monitoring prices and would tender in the next few days. The corporation scrapped a tender for 6,000 tonnes of palm oil last week because prices quoted were considered too high, he said. The lowest bid received was $511.35 C and F per tonne for shipment in the first half of April.
MARKET TALK: South Africa's Maize Board said on Tuesday it was proposing changes to the maize marketing scheme in 1996/97 (May-April), creating a role for private traders in the export market. Until now, the Board has acted as sole exporter of maize. It now plans to allow private traders to export under certain conditions. It also indicated it may withdraw completely from the export market after the end of 1996.-Reuter
