DHAKA: The Bangladesh taka closed fairly steady at 41.0965/41.0990 to the dollar in inter-bank trading compared with the previous 41.0970/41.1000, dealers said.

"The market was active on dollar demand. The taka remained steady as it came close to the central bank band of 40.90/41.10. And there was not much room for the taka to ease, further despite demand from importers," said a dealer with a foreign bank.

Dealers said that inter-bank call money rates closed at 9.5 percent to 10.25 percent, against 9.0-11 percent previously.-Reuter
