NEW DELHI: At least 10 students were killed Wednesday when their schoolbus crashed into a speeding train in the northern state of Punjab, the Press Trust of India said.

Police said the accident occured near Martanda village, some 30 kilometres (18 miles) from the Punjab town of Jalandhar, when the bus tried to cross a railway track.

Many other children were seriously injured and have been admitted to hospital, it said.-APP
