IBM executive
in Pakistan
KARACHI: Mike Kos, General Manager, IBM Africa and Middle East Region who is the Chief Executive responsible for IBM business in all African and Middle Eastern countries including Pakistan, has arrived in Pakistan on a three-day official visit.
Kos joined IBM Ireland in 1963, where he became Country Sales Manager. Later he was appointed General Manager from 1980 to 1984. He was then assigned to Boca Raton in the USA as Director of Business Area Management working with Don Estridge The "father" of the IBM PC. He also undertook the responsibility of restructuring the IBM Network services. Kos was appointed as General Manager, Southern Region in 1992 and to his present position in early 1996.
The objective of his visit to Pakistan is to review business operations and meet IBM customers in government and private sector, to understand their IT requirements and plan further IBM investments in Pakistan as part of emerging market.
