Commodore Jamil's

residence

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamal Azfar visited the residence of Commodore (Retd.) Khalid Jamil on Wednesday and expressed his condolences over the sad demise with the bereaved family.

The Governor remained there for some time and offered fateha for the departed soul. Talking to the wife of late Khalid Jamil, the Governor said that the passing away of the Commodore represents the end of an era of political evolution of Karachi city.

Paying rich tributes to the late Commodore Khalid Jamil, the Governor said that the deceased had a distinguished record in Pakistan Navy having created history by bringing the naval ship Baber from India at the time of Pakistan's Independence. He was twice elected as member of National Assembly of Pakistan in 1961 and 1965 when there were only couple of National Assembly seats for Karachi city.

The Governor said that the dynamic role of late Commodore Khalid Jamil in the rehabilitation of Korangi area cannot be forgotten by its residents.

At this occasion, Mrs. Khalid Jamil, their sons including the eldest Shahid Jamil and daughters were also present.
