Indian gold closes
higher, silver falls
BOMBAY: Gold gained further towards close on Thursday on strong wedding season demand while silver was subdued due to poor industrial buying, dealers said.
"The continued rise in gold prices was mainly due to marriage season demand, coupled with poor arrivals," said a dealer. Standard gold closed 33 rupees higher at 5,312 rupees per 10 grammes.
Silver came under selling pressure in the absence of industrial buying support, dealers said.
Prices of gold biscuits (116.50 grammes each) rose 200 rupees to 62,100 rupees a piece.-Reuter
