Eid-ul-azha observed in parts of NWFP

Peshawar: Eidul Azha was celebrated in parts of NWFP to commemorate the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Ibrahim(AS).

The people of Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda and Swabi and Afghan Refugees living in the tentage villages, offered their Eid Prayers in the big mosques of their areas.

NWFP Chief Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao offered his Eid prayers at his native town Sherpao in district Charsadda.Soon after prayers he met the people belonging to different walks of life at his Hujra and exchanged Eid greetings. The visitors included Provincial Ministers, Senators, Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, government officials, politicians, Journalists, representatives of laborers and social organizations besides people of his constituency.

The Chief Minister remained with the people the whole day and exchanged eid greetings. He will be meeting the general public tomorrow at his residence in the morning.

However, official Eid would be observed on Monday.-APP
