Economy "looks very good"

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON: Member of the Council of Economic Advisers Alicia Munnell Friday said the U.S. economy looks very good and that the Clinton administration will seek to boost productivity and raise the standard of living of Americans.

"The macroeconomy looks very good," Munnell told Reuters. "We have a very low rate of unemployment and a low rate of inflation. And all of this was achieved during a period when the budget deficit was cut in half."
