Customs, banks

at all ports to

remain open

on holidays

KARACHI: The offices of the concerned agencies including Customs, banks and port authorities at all sea ports and dry ports all over the country remained opened for the second consecutive day on Sunday during Eid-ul-Azha holidays to facilitate exporters to get their consignments cleared.

Except for Eid-ul-Azha on Monday these offices will remain open also on April 30 and May 1 for this purpose.

The federal commerce secretary had taken the initiative in this regard in view of the Eid holidays and had requested the Customs and other authorities to ensure opening of their offices at the sea ports and dry ports in the country beginning April 27, 1996 and asked the businessmen to take full advantage of this facility in order to get their export consignments cleared.-PPI
