KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan has, through a circular, directed all the scheduled banks to furnish monthly statement on deposits of funds belonging to autonomous/semi-autonomous bodies/corporations/organizations of federal and provincial governments.

The Banking Policy & Regulations Department said that with a view to reducing the reporting burden and streamlining the system of data collection, it has been decided to collect this information through electronic media, i.e. floppy diskette from the current month (April) onwards as per existing schedule for submitting the statement.

For the sake of uniformity, a data collection system has been developed and a copy of the sytem diskette is being supplied to the head offices of all the scheduled banks alongwith complete system description.

The diskette alongwith hardcopy will be prepared by the head office on the computer. The first diskette will relate to the statement for the month of April, 1996 and should reach the statistics department of the State Bank of Pakistan on due date, i.e. May 15, 1996.
