Installs first ATM,

KARACHI: Askari Bank's first ATM, installed at its branch in AWT Plaza, The Mall, Rawalpindi, has been formally inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Zia Ullah Khan, Chairman of the Bank on April 21, making ATM services available to customers. The Bank has plans to make initially 4 ATMs operational in this year which would provide country-wide real-time on-line self-banking services for its card holders after their communications networking through VSAT. After being fully operational, these ATMs will provide various services such as cash withdrawal, cash deposit, cheque book requisitions, account statements etc, says a press release issued here in Karachi.

The networking through VSAT would make Askari Bank the first to offer country-wide self-banking services through ATMs whereby customers of one city would be able to avail these services from other cities on real-time basis.

It is worth mentioning that Askari Bank, due to its professional and innovative approach towards banking, has already been declared, "Commercial bank of the year" by "Asiamoney" and given "Award for Excellence 1995" by "Euromoney".
