of rice exported

in July-March '96

KARACHI: Around 9,96,526 metric tonnes of rice was exported during July-March 1995-96 as compared to 13,00,000 metric tonnes in the corresponding period of 1994-95 showing a decline by about 28 percent.

Despite decrease in quantity of exports value of rice exported during nine months of this fiscal year was recorded as increase by 1.40 percent and were worth 329 million dollars as compared to 325 million dollars in the corresponding period last fiscal, according to Federal Bureau of Statistics.

During March last 167,939 metric tonnes of rice worth 52.7 million dollars, was exported against 146,564 metric tonnes, worth 40.9 million dollars in the corresponding period of last fiscal year depicting an increase of 14 percent in terms of quantity and 28 percent in terms of value.-PPI
