on Eid holidays

LAHORE: The acting President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik held a meeting with local Customs authorities for the clearing of export consignments during the Eid closure.

The president pointed out that observing the holiday schedule issued by the government, no staff would be available at the Lahore Airport and the Lahore Dry Port, which would eventually lead to an discontinuation of the country's exports for a week long time. He requested the Customs authorities to make sure the availability of staff for the timely clearance of the export consignments.

The Collector of Customs Sarfraz Ahmed Khan assured him that the request of the exporters would be honoured and staff would be available for the timely clearance of the consignments, during Eid holidays.
