KL tin ends lower on London's fall

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's tin price fell 17 cents to end at 16.07 ringgit ($6.43) a kg, with a lower London market and poor foreign demand weakening sentiment.

"Prices were down on a lower London market," a dealer said, adding that the market was dampened by lack of foreign demand.

They noted an opening bid of only 35 tonnes against offer of 117 tonnes. Volume at the close was 80 tonnes, against 126 on Wednesday, with small buying from Europe and Malaysia seen.

The local premium to London rose to $80 a tonne from $50 on Wednesday.-Reuter
