PESHAWAR: The Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court Justice Syed Ibne Ali took oath as Acting Governor of NWFP in a ceremony, held at Governor's house Peshawar, Thursday afternoon.

Justice Abdur Rehman Khan, a Senior Judge of the Peshawar High Court, administered the oath to him.

Earlier, Chief Secretary NWFP Ejaz Rahim read out the Commission of appointment of Justice Syed Ibne Ali as Acting Governor, issued by the President of Pakistan.

Justice Syed Ibne Ali would hold the office in the absence of the Governor NWFP Maj.Gen. (Rtd) Khurshid Ali Khan who is accompanying the President of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia for performance of Hajj.

Later, the Acting Governor, Justice Syed Ibne Ali administered oath to Justice Abdur Rehman Khan as Acting Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Judges of the Peshawar High Court, Advocate General, Additional Advocate General, Deputy Attorney General, Provincial Minister S&GAD, Chief Secretary NWFP, Registrar and Deputy Registrar, Secretary and Private Secretary to Chief Justice, Provincial Secretaries and Senior Officers of the NWFP Government.-APP
