pre-tax profit

TOKYO: Japan's Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd. raised Thursday its pre-tax profit forecast to 9.7 billion yen (92 million dollars) for the year to March, well up from its earlier expectations.

The auto maker's earlier pre-tax forecast was 6.5 billion yen.

Revenue was forecast at 678.0 billion yen, up from the 660 billion yen seen earlier. The forecast for net profit was raised from 3.2 billion yen to 4.0 billion yen.

Daihatsu, belonging to Toyota Motor group, attributed the upgrade to its ongoing restructuring efforts and higher domestic revenues.-AFP
