ABPAW training
workshop ends
LARKANA: Under the auspices of Association of Business, Professional and Agricultural Women (ABPAW) Larkana Chapter and in collaboration with Australian Agency for International Development (AAID), a three-day Income Generation Training Workshop for women concluded here Wednesday at Model CSS Coaching Centre.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest Ghulam Mujtaba Isran MPA assured that all possible assistance from the government would be extended to women of the area for initiating small business.
The National President of ABPAW, Ms Shamim Kazmi stressed on the participants of the workshop to resort to small business within their homes by means of loan obtained from Women Bank which would not only strengthen their economic condition but would also provide best opportunities for leading a better life.
She further said that women should play their active role in enhancing income by involving themselves in home-based industries and through dividends so obtained they should provide better education, health and nourishment to their children.
She also requested the government to fix a five percent mark-up on loan of Rs 25,000 for women so that they could obtain adequate profit from the scheme.
The workshop was attended by about 25 women drawn from rural and backward areas of the district. In this connection NGOs fully cooperated with the Association in inducing participation by women in the workshop.
Later, Ghulam Mujtaba Isran MPA, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Shams Jafrani and Prof. Abdul Manan Chandio gave away certificates to the participants of the workshop.-APP
