Indian gold rises
in early trade
BOMBAY: Gold prices rose further in early trade on Wednesday on unabated wedding season demand while silver was steady despite improved supplies, dealers said.
"Gold supplies are also poor," said a dealer. The dollar, which gained marginally against the Indian rupee, could further affect gold supply, he added. On Tuesday, gold gained six rupees to 5,260 rupees per 10 grammes.
Dealers said that there had not been any sale of confiscated gold by customs though it continued to offload silver stocks.
Silver, however, held steady despite improved supplies on stray industrial demand, dealers said.
