HYDERABAD: Thirteen students belonging to Jeay Sindh Students Federation, Sindh University Unit, observed token hunger strike on the third consecutive day to protest against the continued detention of J.S.S.F leaders including Rooplu Choliani, Waheed Soomro and others.
The detained J.S.S.F leaders had been arrested on April 17, when they tried to take out a procession on the visit of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Abdullah Shah to Jamshoro Campus to preside over the medal award ceremony.
VILLAGERS
Twenty villagers of "Kohli Goth" Taluka Hyderabad, including women and children, staged token hunger strike on the second consecutive day to protest against the demolition threat to their village by Iqbal Khawaja and Hatri police.
Talking to newsmen, they alleged that their village had been attacked by Hatri police personnel two days back and they had been threatened with dire consequences if they did not vacate the village.
The hunger strike unto death by nine employees of Al-Abbas Sugar Mills Mirwah Gorchani, District Mirpurkhas, entered the 15th day here on Wednesday.
No one in authority or any officer of the mills management has taken any notice of the plight of the hunger strikers.
