HYDERABAD: Hundreds of employees of Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) staged a demonstration to protest against the non-payment of salaries to 1400 Wasa employees for March-1996 and the Eid advance.

The workers blocked the road for over an hour and raised slogans against the H. D. A management.

Addressing the rally, the President and General Secretary of the H. D. A. workers' Union (C.B.A) Syed Shujjat Ali Zaidi and Asghar Ali Rajput respectively, said that the Wasa employees will not be able to celebrate Eid in a befitting manner as they had not been paid their salaries for March and also Eid advance as announced by the government.
