Film Academy

to be set up at

Karachi

LAHORE: The Federal Government has decided to set up Academy of performing arts and Cinema at Karachi.

According to Chairman of the National Commission on history and Culture, Fakhar Zaman, the Academy will be the first training institution for performing arts and cinema in the country and the Government has agreed to set up this academy in Karachi in principle.

He said the ceremony of the National Films Awards for the year 1992, 93 and 94 will be held in June this year. He added that after this ceremony, the backlog of National Film Awards distribution will be cleared.-APP
