Sindh CM's adviser

KARACHI: A delegation of FAST under the chairmanship of Mohammed Jawed Fudda met Munawar Suharwardy, Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh and apprised him of the anxiety amongst the small industrialists due to the possible discontinuation of Fixed Sales Tax system in the coming budget.

The Adviser was told that if this scheme was discontinued, thousands of small industries working in different parts of the country would be shut, consequently increasing the rate of unemployment. Because, in these industries, direct or indirect approximately 10 lakh people were employed.

The delegation told him, that the Government was adding billions to the revenue through this scheme without any staff. Besides, this scheme had also put an end to the bribery and corruption.

Therefore, considering the advantages of this scheme, the Government should continue this scheme not only in this budget but, also for the next ten years.

Munawar Suharwardy, carefully heard the proposals of the delegation, and assured them to discuss their proposals with Prime Minister and the concerned authorities of the Federal Government and recommend for the continuation of this scheme.
