KARACHI: The PML (J) Chief Hamid Nasir Chatha, has said Pakistan Steel is a great national organisation which is playing a vital role towards stability of the national economy.

He was talking to newsmen at a dinner hosted by MNA Manzoor Ahmed Wassan, Chairman NA Standing Committee for Water and Power, in honour of Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, Chairman Parliament's Kashmir Committee.

Chatha said the dreams for national progress and prosperity can materialise only through progress of organisations like Pakistan Steel He observed that the positive steps taken by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in connection with the affairs of Pakistan Steel would cast soothing effects not only on Pakistan Steel itself but on the entire national economy.

He praised the Government move regarding appointment of Usman Farooqi as Chairman Pakistan Steel and said that being an experienced admnistrative officer, his services would certainly prove beneficial for the organisation.

Hamid Nasir Chatha described as vital the steps taken for eradication of irregularities and slashing of non-development expenditures in Pakistan steel.-APP
