Cats may cause

asthma

ISLAMABAD: People must choose between asthma and their cats, a French doctor has warned.

CFI, a French television reported that a substance inducing allergies is also found in a cat's saliva and sweat. In fact, pets are responsible for 25 percent of the asthma cases in children.

Frederique Noto, a teenager, has two cats Bill and Ben, who developed severe allergy owing to his pets. He said he started sneezing, and then felt itchiness in his eyes. "I had wheezing and spasms (and then) I could not breath any more."

Frederique had to undergo allergy tests to get the proof. he was desensitized, a cure which has a success rate under 50 percent, a doctor said.

When the doctors tell the people that they are allergic and should get rid of the cat, at least 75 percent of the them refuse to do so.-APP
