GUJRANWALA: On behalf of the President of Pakistan cash awards were distributed among the Income Tax officers of Gujranwala Zone and other staff by Jawid Tahir Butt, Commissioner Income Tax.

Addressing the ceremony, Jawid Tahir Butt called upon the recipients to continue to work with zeal and enthusiasm so as to justify the honour bestowed upon them. He said clear instructions had been given to the Income Tax officials not to harass the potential tax payers while conducting the survey, for which the collaboration of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the Anjuman-e-Tajiran had been sought.

The Income Tax Commissioner disclosed to Business Recorder that upto the month of February an aggregate sum of Rs. 410 million had been recovered as against the amount of Rs. 260 million collected during the past fiscal year. The number of Income Tax returns has also risen to almost 30 thousand while the figure for the last year was about 24,700.

C., Dr. Ikram, Ghani D.C.I.T, Sultan Iftikhar Assistant Commissioner Income Tax, Dr. Hamid, Ateeq Sarwar Shahban Bhatti, Income Tax Inspector, Tariq Ehsan, Abdul Khaliq Baig, Tanweer Aslam, Khalid Hamid, Zulfiqar Ahmad, Muhammad Asif, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Saleem Al-Riaz, Muhammad Aslam, Qasim, Muhammad Ashraf, Ghulam Mustafa and Muhammad Irshad.
