APOTOA to stop
Shell's products
lifting if ALF not
raised by May 1
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association (APOTOA) threatened to stop lifting of Shell products from May 1st if they failed to increase air lines fuel (ALF) transportation charges.
Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Wednesday, Gul Mohammad Afridi, President APOTOA, said that at present Shell was paying Rs 40,000 as cartage charges upto Rawalpindi from Karachi whereas the other companies were paying Rs 52,272 per trip for the same destination.
He alleged that the company was favouring five tanker contractors and trying to eliminate the small contractors.
He said under Q-system it was the right of every contractor to lift oil from Shell but they were adopting ways and means to deprive them of the right.
Gul Mohammad also urged the Chief Minister of Sindh to take appropriate steps to curb criminal activities in the interior of Sindh.
He alleged that traffic police and excise staff were collecting Rs 1200 to Rs 1500 per trip as juga tax and harassing the truck and tanker drivers.
He mentioned that Chief Minister had promised to build roads in Shirin Jinnah Colony but nothing had been done in this regard.
He suggested that the government should allot a plot near Pipri for tankers terminal.
