ADB gives $102.3m

for Kabirwala

power project

MANILA: The Asian Development Bank on Wednesday approved an equity investment of $5.3 million and two loans totaling $97 million for a power project in Pakistan.

The power project entails the construction and operation of a 151-megawatt power plant near Kabirwala in Punjab.

A complementary loan of up to $65 million has also been approved. The Export Development Corporation of Canada will also provide a loan of up to $35 million to help finance the project.-Xinhua
