LAHORE: Pakistan Locomotive factory, Risaipur, has successfully manufactured the ninth locomotive of 2000 horse power which would be rolled out of the factory on Wednesday.

The factory administration indicated that work on the other 14 locomotives is also progressing well and these would be turned out of scheduled.

Pakistan Locomotive factory was commissioned in January, 1993 and since then it has produced eight locomotives, which are being extensively utilized by Pakistan Railway on passenger goods and express trains satisfactorily. A Railway spokesman said on Tuesday that the organisation has become self-sufficient in manufacturing of diesel locomotives.-APP
